What a weekend for TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen: First the bitter loss in the Champions League against Düssedorf on Friday, then the 3-1 home win against Fulda in the play-offs of the Tischtennis Bundesliga (TTBL) on Sunday. We talked to Simon Gauzy about that.

Simon, last weekend must have felt like an emotional rollercoaster. After losing the semi-final in the Champions League on Friday, you just won the first play-off match against Fulda on Sunday. Does that prove the strong mentality of your team?

Simon Gauzy: Last weekend was tough emotionally, yes. We have played an amazing battle in Düsseldorf. We all know that it's difficult to beat Düsseldorf in their own hall. Despite I lost my two matches, it was a great game. But we had to bounce back fast for Sunday and that's what we did. I'm proud of us.

Fulda is a team that is really strong on home soil. What do you think are your chances for the second match on Saturday?

Gauzy: Fulda is a bit like Düsseldorf. We know it will be hard there. We are ready to take the battle against great players.

If your team and Düsseldorf move into the final, the Liebherr TTBL-Finale in Frankfurt would be the ideal opportunity to take revenge …

Gauzy: I don't like to speak about revenge. We beat them in Ochsenhausen, we lost there. That's sport. I just wish we will have another opportunity to play against them, but there is a big obstacle first.

The second play-off match between TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen and TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell will be broadcast live and in HD on TTBL-TV on Saturday, April 14 at 6 pm.
