Grünwettersbach with the brilliant coup

What a sensation! The big underdog ASV Grünwettersbach surprisingly made the first place in the Final Four in the ratiopharm arena Ulm/Neu-Ulm and won the German Table Tennis Cup for the first time. Against 1. FC Saarbrücken TT and in the final against TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen there was a 3-2. Borussia Düsseldorf also was eliminated in the semi-finals.

The participants for the Final Four on January 4th 2020 in Neu-Ulm have been determined: In the quarter-finals of the German Cup, Timo Boll and Borussia Düsseldorf beat the TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell 3-1, while reigning champion TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen won 3-0 against Post SV Mühlhausen. With the same result, 1. FC Saarbrücken TT defeated TTC Schwalbe Bergneustadt. Against second division team TuS Celle, the ASV Grünwettersbach also won 3-0.
Top teams reach the quarter-finals

The top teams of the TTBL had some problems, but in the end they moved into the quarter-finals of the German Cup: Borussia Düsseldorf prevailed at SV Werder Bremen with 3-2. The same result was between TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen and TTC Neu-Ulm as well as between 1. FC Saarbrücken TT and TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau.
